Thanks for your comment. I use Chevron or Shell. If choosing a higher octane rating helps prolong my engine and accessories, then I’ll stick with it. I studied octane ratings in my thermodynamics class in college. The higher the octane number, the more stable the fuel during the stages of an Otto cycle

You would need to tune the engine to get a benefit from higher grade fuel. The Telluride doesn’t see any benefit from higher octane fuels. Atkinson cycle engines can benefit from higher octane fuels, but using premium gas in an engine designed for regular will only lead to higher costs with no performance boost

I feel better performance and timing using 89 too. Efficiency, not sure though
