I just got a 2017 Kia Optima and I’m curious about this transparent button next to the lane assist button. It lights up red when I press it, but I can’t find any info in the user manual. Does anyone know what it does
It might be an aftermarket feature. Someone likely installed it.
It’s not a factory part. You should trace the wires to see what it actually does.
I’m guessing it’s for a parking heater or a garage door opener.

Now you can access any gated apartment complex
Maybe it’s an ejector seat
Could it be for an aftermarket alarm LED

That was my first thought as well

Great minds think alike. Have a happy holiday season
It could be a parking heater
Maybe it’s for caltrops
Check the outside lights when you activate that button
Could be aftermarket ambient lighting
It’s likely a parking heater, probably Eber (Eberspacher) or Webasto. There should be a control box on the driver’s side footwell with a unique IMEI. You can connect it to the EasyStar app on your phone to control the heater remotely after paying a yearly fee.
Looks a bit sketchy. I think it’s a makeshift garage door opener.
