What does the tc light mean on a car

Sometimes, the downhill assist and traction control light is turning on and staying on until I start the vehicle next day (if I shutdown the vehicle and start it up immediately, it will still show up those two lights on, however, If the vehicle stays off for like 30 minutes, after I start it up again, they will not show up).
