Thinking about the 2025 kia soul... how does it compare?

so i’ve been eyeing the 2025 kia soul and it seems like a solid pick with good space and features for the price. but the subcompact SUV market is packed rn… anyone else compared it to the kona, hr-v, cx-30, or other options? would love to hear some thoughts or experiences.

yeah, i looked at the kona too. it drives way sportier than the soul but felt kinda cramped in the back. if you’re carrying passengers, they might complain lol.

good to know! i’ve got a couple of tall friends, so maybe the soul’s space would be better for them.

kona’s cargo space is kinda weak too… the soul is better if you’re hauling stuff.

anyone else find the hr-v too sluggish? tried it out, and it was like, barely moving at highway speeds. soul felt peppier to me.

totally agree. hr-v’s acceleration is a joke… but it’s super comfy for city driving, i’ll give it that.

yeah, i’ve heard the hr-v is more about comfort than performance. guess it’s a trade-off?

mazda cx-30 is my favorite for driving fun, but omg the price adds up fast when you go for the turbo and higher trims. almost makes you rethink your budget.

for real. cx-30 is sweet to drive, but i ended up with the soul cause it didn’t wreck my wallet. still happy with it.

what’s the cx-30’s mpg like? is it any good with the turbo?

turbo isn’t great for mpg. i’d say stick with the base engine if that’s a concern.

corolla cross is reliable but kinda boring to drive… feels like they sacrificed fun for fuel efficiency. hybrid’s nice tho.

yeah, my dad has the corolla cross hybrid. it’s a commuter champ but definitely not exciting.

exactly. it’s the ‘responsible adult’ choice lol.

trailblazer fans here? i test drove one, and it felt rugged but not that comfy. plus, the interior quality was meh.

i kinda like the trailblazer’s look tho. wish it had better materials inside.

yeah, it’s got a cool vibe for sure. but if you’re after a smoother ride, the soul wins.

what does ‘boxy shape’ mean in this context? saw it mentioned and i’m confused.

basically means the soul’s shape is more squared-off, which helps with cargo space and interior room.

ah, got it. so better for fitting bulky stuff?
