I currently own a 2023 Kia Sorento and my dealership is tempting me with an offer to upgrade to the 2025. I’m wondering if I should take it. Are there any major changes, or is it just aesthetics? Anything different under the hood?
No changes under the hood. They’re just trying to make money off you. Honestly, I think the 2023 front end looks better too. And remember, depreciation hits hardest in the first few years of a car.
The 2023 has a better-looking front, and the rims on the SXP are way nicer. The 2025 has a fancier dash with the one-piece monitor, but all the rims are ugly.
From what I’ve read, the 2025 is mostly aesthetic changes, but there is also different suspension tuning. Engines and the rest are the same.
My wife has a 2023 SXP X-Line, and I’m driving a 2024 SXP X-Pro as a loaner while my Telluride is at the dealership. The ride in the 2024 is smoother, which I think is due to the different tires. I love the dash with the full screen—reminds me of my Telly. But I’m not a fan of the HVAC and radio sharing the same screen where you have to toggle between them. Also, the front end on the 2023 looks way better. If you want more comparisons, let me know. I have both cars here right now.
@Barbara
Thanks so much! I think I’m good with the 2023 for now since there aren’t any performance upgrades.
Are you serious? How much is the upgrade going to cost?

It’s an extra $40 a month. I wouldn’t do it if it’s just aesthetics, so I wanted to check.

Are you leasing?
@InfiniteImpulse
Nope, financing.

That adds up over time. Tell them to keep the payment the same and see what they say.
I prefer the screen placement in the 2025, but I love how the 2023 has more air vents. Being able to blast AC up and down at the same time is crucial for me, especially with how hot summers get in Korea.
