Hey everyone, I need to replace the air conditioning compressor on my 2014 Kia Sportage 2.4L, but I’m not sure which model to get. The dealership said the spindle inside the compressor spins freely, and it only blows warm air now. I’ve been looking on Amazon but don’t know if I should get one with a clutch or not. Any advice?
I’d go with one that has a clutch. It’s usually more reliable and compatible with the 2014 model.

Thanks, that helps narrow it down. Any brands you’d recommend?

If you’re getting it on Amazon, check the reviews for compatibility. I’ve had good luck with Denso compressors.
I replaced mine with a clutch-type compressor, and it’s been running well since. Just make sure to confirm the fit for your engine.

Will do. I’ll check the fit for the 2.4L specifically.
Some models are clutchless, but for older cars like the 2014 Sportage, a compressor with a clutch is probably your best bet.
If you’re unsure, you could bring the part number to a parts store. They can usually match it with the right model for you.
I got mine online, but make sure you’re okay with installing it yourself or have someone who can do it. They can be tricky to fit without the right tools.
