Good morning…
My neighbor’s Kia horn alarm randomly goes off every 5 to 10 minutes, and it’s been happening for a few weeks now. She comes out and turns it off with the key fob, but it keeps happening a couple of times a week, usually in the afternoon during the day.
She’s been taking videos each time, so I’m guessing she’s brought it to the dealer, but they still haven’t fixed it.
Anyone else dealt with this or know what could be causing it? It’s driving everyone nuts, and I’m sure she’s just as frustrated.
Your help will be appreciated,
False alarms can be caused by a weak battery. Tell your neighbor to check the voltage of the batteries. Issues may also arise from loose or corroded battery terminals. Make sure they are secure and clean.
Strong electromagnetic emissions from surrounding gadgets, for example, can obstruct the remote’s transmission. Request that your neighbor keep their remote away from these kinds of things.
A software bug can occasionally result in unpredictable behavior. The problem might be fixed with a software update or reset.
False alerts may result from an internal short circuit in the alarm system. It could need to be inspected or repaired by an expert.
The alarm may sound due to vibrations from construction activities.
Animals: It’s possible for wildlife or pets to unintentionally collide with the car and set off the alarm.
