hey everyone, i’ve got a 2018 kia optima 2.4l ex that started idling poorly and stalling at low speeds after i put in a new battery. seems like i might need a replacement idle auto control valve. anyone know where i could find a reliable part or if there’s something else i should check?
sometimes replacing the battery can mess with the idle control settings. try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to reset the ecu.

good idea, i’ll give that a try and see if it helps.
had a similar issue with my optima. replacing the idle control valve helped, but make sure to get an oem part. you can check sites like kiapartsnow.com.
also, check for any vacuum leaks around the intake manifold. a small leak can cause rough idle after a new battery install.

thanks, will check that too. didn’t think about vacuum leaks.
did you get the throttle body cleaned? sometimes a dirty throttle body can cause idle issues after the battery’s been disconnected.
hope you get it sorted. new battery installs can sometimes throw things off if the idle control isn’t recalibrated.
