I need some suggestions for a phone holder that fits in the small compartment next to the CD player. Right now, I’m using a MagSafe holder for my iPhone that’s mounted on the vent. The problem is that when I try to take my phone off, the entire holder comes off with it.
Have you tried a CD slot phone holder? Just be careful not to clamp it too tight if you plan to remove it later.
I’d suggest using an X-grip and screwing a RAM ball in the dash or inside that little cubby. If that doesn’t work, maybe head over to Home Depot and grab a sheet of plastic. You can cut it to cover that hole and use it as a mount.
Why not remove it and install a CarPlay screen? It could be a good upgrade.

I use a cup holder mount with a gooseneck. It works pretty well for me.
A CD player slot phone mount is the way to go if you still have a CD player. It’s the best way to keep your phone secure.
I usually get my phone mounts from proclipusa.com. They might not have one for that spot, but the A-pillar mount works great. Their mounts are custom, durable, and you can remove them without damaging your car.
