Just joined… anyone else make the switch?

After years of driving Honda, I’ve had enough. Got a new car and I’m loving it so far!

Congrats on the new car. Welcome to the group .

Yeah, I had to move on from Honda… not looking back.

Wow, sounds like Honda wasn’t working out for you. Glad you’re enjoying the new car. I’ve been loving my Sportage, though I wish I waited for the 2025 model with the extra black accents I wanted for the X-Line.

@LizCampbell
I was holding out for a midsized 3-row PHEV, and the Sportage SX 2025 has been amazing so far!

What kind of Honda did you have? Why was it a bad experience? I’m trying to decide between the Sportage and CR-V. The Sportage drives so well, but I’m concerned about the MPG.

I’ve had several CR-Vs and they were fine until I got a 2023 Sport Hybrid. Bought it new and had issues right away, like a window falling off on the first day. My main reasons for switching: the PHEV option, lack of wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, two recalls (steering and fuel pump), and it was overpriced. The Sportage ST is a 3-row mini-SUV, super cool for camping. Plus, I mostly use the plug-in electric mode, so I barely need gas. Right now, I’m over 100 MPG, charging regularly, and it’s way cheaper overall.

Is it a Sorento?

No, it’s a 2025 model… very advanced features.

Didn’t realise those were out yet. I just got a 2025 HEV but wish I waited. My sales guy probably got tired of me, though.

@DolphGabbana
Mine drives great. My wife got a Tesla, and that process was smooth compared to Kia. At Kia, the finance guy really adds unnecessary extras. It’s exhausting when they keep going to see their manager about every little thing, trying to wear you down to buy stuff like paint protection.

@KIADOC
That’s more about the dealership. I handled all my negotiating over email and was in and out in under two hours. It might have helped that I’d interacted with the finance guy before, and he was straightforward during the process. But yeah, some people get stuck there for hours. It’s all about the dealership.

@DolphGabbana
I set a 3-hour limit for the process and managed to get out on time, but it’s still draining. The paperwork wasn’t even the long version… kind of disappointing.

@KIADOC
I went with the 2025 SX Prestige PHEV. Absolutely love it! My goal is to only fill up on gas once a month.

Haha, yeah.

Congrats on the new car!

Same here! I switched after years with GMC.
