I have a 25’ Gt-Line and started it this morning with the heat on. I heard a sound from under the hood and I’m unsure if it’s normal or not. I don’t know much about cars so I would appreciate any advice.

Could it be a drip? Maybe some oil dripped down during the last change or add?

That doesn’t seem like a crack. It reminds me of the engine noise I had when I needed a replacement because of piston slap.

I hear the injectors but there’s also another noise I notice. They said it was a new sound. I’m not a mechanic, but it sounds like something I encountered before.

Yes, I was asking if this noise is normal, and maybe I’m just overthinking it. I currently have 2992 miles on it as well. I appreciate all your input. I’ll reach out to the dealership to check if it’s anything serious.

If it’s a 25, it’s probably nothing. But why are you concerned about the sound now? Is it a new sound? Does it sound different than before?

This is the first time I’m hearing it or maybe just noticing it. I’m worried about this sound and another one that happens when I turn on the A/C. They might not be related, but it’s becoming a bit too loud for me. I was hoping someone might have heard a similar noise and if I should be worried.

If you’re that worried, it wouldn’t hurt to have it checked to ease your mind. If there’s an issue, it should be covered under warranty. I had a faint sound I didn’t recognise, and it turned out to be piston slap, but my car was 9 years old, not brand new like yours.
