Hey everyone, my car was recently totaled, and I’ve been driving a rental Kia Soul. I’m thinking about getting a 2023 Kia Soul EX with heated seats—it has 16k miles. For those of you who own one, what do you think? Any issues or things I should know? Please help, thanks!
Got a '23 EX myself, no problems so far except I can’t seem to get the tire pressure right.

Is it supposed to be around 35? The rental I’m using keeps fluctuating between over 40 and under 32.
@Gordon
Most of the time, I don’t get a warning if it’s between 30-32. The sensors show different values all the time. Sometimes I’ll put air in, and it reads lower than before.
We had to replace the horn twice because it stopped working. Also had two recalls.

Were the recalls about the horn or something else? I’ve tried searching but only find random stuff. Thanks!
@Gordon
Not on the horn. One was for the display cluster, can’t remember the other one.
If it’s a good deal, I’d say go for it. Might be too early to tell if the known engine problems will affect this year.
I have a 2022 with 41k miles, no issues except a window switch. Only other thing is ours was built right before they started putting immobilizers in!
@Musk
Thank you! How do you know if it has one? I haven’t seen much about that, not sure how bad theft is in my area.

Early 2022 models didn’t have them. I think they started adding them around September or October 2021.
I like Kia’s design, but I wouldn’t buy one now mainly because of the theft issues. I have a 2020 S, it’s fine, but I’m planning to get a wheel lock to help prevent theft, though it’s still annoying.

The EX should have push-button start, so it shouldn’t be targeted by the recent theft trend.
Do you live somewhere cold? My 2013 heats up by the time I drive a mile, but I live in TN where the AC is more important.

I live in the Midwest, so the temperature varies a lot. The '23 LX rental I’ve been driving warms up pretty quick, so I’d assume the EX would too! AC is definitely a must—it gets hot randomly here
@Gordon
You might want to double-check, but my '24 GT-Line has both key fob remote start and the Kia Connect app for remote start.
I just bought a 2023 EX recently. Got a decent deal with 25k km on it. So far so good, but haven’t had it long. Had a loose part causing a rattle in the passenger door, but it was fixed under warranty.
