After the second theft or vandalism, I would’ve moved, garaged it, or sold it.
Not everyone has the money or property to do that. If my car was getting stolen, I’d just have to hope it didn’t happen again. I use a club on my steering wheel, even though they can’t steal my car because of the immobilizer. It’s just to keep them from breaking the windows or damaging the steering column.
Just a heads up, it’s pretty easy to get around a club.
Yeah, I know. But it’s enough to scare off teenagers trying to pull a quick theft, not someone who’s serious about it. They can’t take my car, but I’m trying to avoid the damage to my windows and steering column.

They usually just cut the steering wheel, not the club. It only takes a few seconds with a hacksaw. But you’re right, it’s mostly a visual deterrent for lazy thieves.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I’ve even seen some thieves steal the whole steering wheel. People are ruthless. I guess I’m lucky, living in a quieter part of Chicago. Only three more years left on my lease!
