Infinity speaker replacement for kia optima 2015 … any tips?

just picked up a 2015 kia optima with the infinity sound system. the speaker on the left side of the dash isn’t working. does anyone know how i could replace it? i’ve found some used door speakers online but not this specific one.

The easiest solution is to first check eBay or a local wrecker for an exact fit—this way, you won’t have to worry about messing with connectors.

Speakers are straightforward devices (though they can get complex). Sites like Crutchfield can recommend replacements, but you may need to DIY the connectors. Personally, I’d remove the grill to measure the size first.

Often, OEM speakers have a capacitor to block low frequencies and protect smaller speakers. You may need a bass blocker for the new speaker.

If that feels like too much, a local car audio shop can handle it in about an hour, and the speaker shouldn’t cost more than $30.

Keep in mind, “car” audio speakers are often overpriced. I used “home” audio speakers in my last car—better quality and cheaper. No need to overspend; just focus on getting the speaker working again.

to add to my previous comment – you could use a volt meter set to alternating current to check if the speaker is getting any power from the amp before replacing it. you might see the reading fluctuate around 5 volts when music is playing at higher volumes.

if you’re not familiar with this process, a car audio shop can do this kind of troubleshooting for you.

had the same issue, but it was my center dash speaker. here’s a link to the oem replacement i used:

install is pretty easy – just use a nylon trim tool to pry off the cover, unscrew and unplug the old speaker, put in the new one, and then screw it down and replace the cover.

by the way, is this for the dash or door? wasn’t totally clear in your post. if it’s the door speaker, here’s a link for that:
