Maintain a steady, gentle pressure as you do this. Persist with these actions until the steering wheel is freed and you’re able to ignite the engine.

Should you have difficulty turning the ignition switch to the ACC position, turn the key while turning the steering wheel right and left to release the tension

I visited the closest KIA dealership and simply stated my requirement without any further discussion. It seems logical that they would only require proof of ownership, such as your registration document containing the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). VINs are distinct for each vehicle and provide details like model and year, which are sufficient for assessing the necessity of a lock.
