Fuel light on with a 60+ mile estimated range? That should only light up at around 40 miles left. I think I’m mixing up when the range shows dashes.
Mine comes on when I have about 2 gallons left, which is usually at 40 miles or so.
I’ll have to pay closer attention. I hardly ever let it get that low, but now I’m curious.
Mine comes on at around 60 miles, but then stops projecting range at around 30 miles. I’ve never pushed it beyond those dotted lines.
Mine turns on at 60 miles left. 2014 model.
On my old 2017, the gas light comes on at 38 miles left, and on my 2022, it comes on at 36 miles.
I’ve hit 46 mpg on a 30-mile city/highway trip at 60 mph. I’d like to try 50 mph on the highway, but in Philly, that’s a death sentence.
I get that! I mostly drive on I-10 and I-20, and I do it at night to avoid disturbing the traffic flow during the day. This saves me about $20 every time, and I can easily hit 450 miles per tank.
Aside from speed and no AC, are there any other hypermiling tricks? I’ve never heard of that term before.
No stops and no breaks in the middle. I only stop after 450-500 miles, which is usually about 8-9 hours of nonstop driving. I’ve noticed that each break decreases my fuel efficiency.
They say using cruise control helps, but I think it’s the opposite if you’re using it at high speeds or in hilly areas… Maybe there’s a Mythbusters episode about it
Initially, I thought cruise control wasn’t great because it changes gears a lot. But someone told me it’s better to put it in 8th gear manually and use cruise control. It seems like the transmission knows what it’s doing since it never causes the engine to struggle, and I get better mileage unless the road is perfectly flat, which is rare here.
I get around 30 mpg with my 2020, and I have no idea what hypermiling is. When I fill up, it says I can go about 345 miles.
Damn. I typically get about 400-425 miles on a full tank in my 2016.
Damn, my 2016 only gets about 30 What’s your secret? I’ve got the Eco boost on, and it’s not in sport or comfort mode.
Goddamn
I have a 2018. How do I achieve this? I typically get 315-325 miles on a full tank.
