How do I turn off the 'Consider taking a break' warning? It keeps going off... so annoying

This warning keeps activating for me, and I live in a rural area with long open roads. I think it goes off because I lightly touch the steering wheel at the bottom. Does anyone know how to turn this off for good?

I’ve been driving a 2025 loaner model lately. If you leave the lane centering and lane keep assist on, the van will stay centered and the warning won’t go off. But if you only leave the lane centering on, the van bounces from line to line, which it thinks is impaired driving, like when you’re exhausted.

Wait, what are the two different settings? I have a 2024 EX, and I only see one assistance setting, which keeps bouncing from line to line. It’s super annoying.

Here’s a picture: [link]. The button you’re looking for is the one at the bottom-left of the wheel, with a circle and lines on either side. Press it once for lane centering. Press and hold it for lane keep assist, which locks the van into the lane. It makes long drives much easier to handle.

@Magdalina
If it’s really that easy, I’m going to be livid. I never thought to check, just assumed lane centering didn’t work right.

It’s SO ANNOYING! We’ve been trying to figure it out on our 2023, and we haven’t even been on the road for 10 minutes before it starts going off. I’m about to lose it.

I mostly just hurl profanity at the van. It doesn’t help, but it makes me feel better.

I drive a '25 SX. I would love to get access to the ECU and extract the code for this ‘feature.’ My plan would be to print it on 100lb card stock, crumple it up, and shove it up the engineer’s ass who came up with this idea.

Oh my god, it’s the most annoying thing ever. The only fix I’ve found is to change the setting where it mutes all other sounds. So, it can beep as much as it wants, but I can’t hear it because my music is too loud. I drive a '25 SX. I’ve noticed it goes off more often when I drive after my husband or vice versa. I think it gets confused by our different driving styles. It also goes off a lot on side streets where there are no lines or on gravel roads in my small town.

How do you mute all other sounds? I only like the blind spot warning. Will the wheel still vibrate?

Yes! Go to setup > vehicle > driver assistance > on the car’s picture with all the safety options, you’ll see a microphone in the lower left corner. Tap it, then scroll down to ‘driving safety priority’ and toggle that off. You’ll still get the alert on the dash and it will beep, but it won’t mess with your radio or navigation sound.

@PoshMan
Great info, thanks!

@PoshMan
Ah okay, thank you. It’s a small step in the right direction, but still annoying.

Am I the only one who has never seen this warning?

This warning only shows if you’re swerving all over the place, which is funny considering the replies here.

For real. Maybe the answer is just drive better.

You have to drive pretty erratically and loosen your grip on the wheel. The system thinks you’re tired and about to nod off.

I’ve never seen this in my 2023, and we’ve taken many interstate trips. Hope I don’t jinx myself…

The manual explains how to turn off this feature. It’s called ‘Driver Attention Warning’ or something like that.
