How do I remove the tail light assembly on a 2017 Kia Sorento?

Hey guys, I’m trying to take out the rear tail light on my 2017 Kia Sorento. I’ve opened up the back panel and unscrewed the two screws holding the light, but I’m having trouble actually removing the light. Any tips on how to get it out?

Google and YouTube.

I think I took off four of them. Each one was only a few screws and a peg that popped out of rubber rings. The only one that was hard was a Kona to change a bulb in my parents’ car. I had to use a screwdriver wrapped in a rag to get it out.

Removing a 2017 Kia Sorento tail light can be tricky. You’re on the right track with removing the panel and screws. The key is gentle but firm pressure. Sometimes there are hidden clips or tabs that need to be released. You might need to wiggle the light assembly a bit while pulling. If you’re struggling, try using a plastic trim removal tool to carefully pry around the edges. Just be cautious not to break any clips.
