Gas savings with 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid Plug-In compared to 2021 model?

Hi everyone, I’m considering upgrading from my 2021 Kia Sorento Hybrid Plug-In to the 2023 model. I’m curious about the potential gas savings with the newer model. Does anyone know what kind of improvement in fuel efficiency I can expect? My primary goal is to save on fuel expenses.

The 2023 Sorento Hybrid Plug-In typically gets 5-9 mpg better than the 2021 model. That could make a noticeable difference depending on your driving habits.

Thanks! That sounds promising. I’ll do the math to see how much I could save annually.

Make sure to consider your driving conditions. If you’re doing a lot of city driving, the improvement might be more noticeable since hybrids perform better in stop-and-go traffic.

Good point. I do a mix of city and highway driving, so I’ll factor that in. Thanks for the tip!

If you’re using the plug-in hybrid’s electric mode frequently, the savings on gas could be significant. How often are you charging it?

I usually charge it overnight, so I do rely on electric mode a lot. That’s another reason I’m considering the upgrade.

I upgraded from a 2021 to a 2023, and I’m seeing better range on electric and improved mpg in hybrid mode. It’s been worth it for me so far.

That’s great to hear! Did you notice any other major improvements besides fuel efficiency?

@LeeLyam
The tech features are a bit better, and it feels smoother overall. But the fuel efficiency was the biggest selling point for me.

If you’re comparing fuel savings, don’t forget to account for current gas prices. A small mpg improvement could add up depending on how much you’re paying at the pump.

Absolutely. I’ll factor in local gas prices when calculating potential savings. Thanks for the reminder!
