Hey everyone, just noticed today that the gas door on my 2016 Kia Sorento won’t open. Tried the manual release, but no luck there either. Has this happened to anyone else? Car’s at about 147K miles. Any tips?
Ugh, that happened to me on a different car. I ended up carefully prying it open with a flathead screwdriver and some cloth to protect the paint.

Same here. The manual release wasn’t working for me either, but a little prying did the trick.
Sometimes a little WD-40 on the hinge can help loosen it up if it’s sticking.

Good idea. Might try that first before prying it open.
If the latch still makes the clicking sound, it might be a loose connection. You could try a bit of DIY if you’re comfortable with that.

Yeah, sometimes it’s just a minor alignment issue with the latch mechanism.
Had mine replaced a while back. Found a replacement part online pretty cheap, so might be worth it if it keeps giving you trouble.

No worries driving it while it’s stuck, just means you’ll need to fix it before your next fill-up
