I hope others can share their experiences. I recently had the power seat recall service done.
Before the service, I had no issues. But afterward, I noticed the seat knob seems to get “stuck” sometimes, as shown in the video below. I don’t think it’s supposed to do this.
I know some might suggest contacting the dealer. I’ve tried, but I haven’t been able to get through via phone, email, or their website form. It might just be that the service person I’m trying to reach is out of the office. I’ll keep trying and will update when I can.
That’s when I decide to take a trip and head over to the dealer. They pulled the same thing on me during a previous recall, and I told them I would just go there myself.
I believe that’s what the recall was about. It seems like they might have installed a faulty one for you and used the recall as a fix instead of actually repairing it.
Welcome to the typical experience at a Kia dealership. If you manage to get someone on the phone, they just put you on hold. Several times, they’ve taken my details and promised to call me back, but they never do. I need to schedule an appointment for the same recall, but I really don’t want to deal with any Kia dealer around here.
Has anyone been informed that this recall requires two separate visits? First, they inspect the car to determine the “vehicle-specific part,” and then they have to order it, meaning you have to return for a second visit. It’s really frustrating, especially since the nearest Kia dealer is two hours away from me. This means I’d have to take two days off work.
They mentioned that it would likely take just a day or two for the part to arrive after ordering, so they suggested I leave my car with them. They also offered a loaner car while mine is being serviced at the dealership. I’ll be taking them up on that offer and bringing my car in a week from today. Let’s see how it turns out.
Here’s what I’m considering: I’m having issues with the knob; it occasionally sticks and doesn’t respond. I have to turn it the other way before I can get it to go in the direction I want. I’m worried that the Kia dealership might make things worse.
A few months ago, I called to schedule a couple of recalls, but was told, “We don’t have the parts. We’ll call you back.” I haven’t heard back since, and now there’s another recall. I really hope the Kia dealership doesn’t mess this up.
I’ve had three recalls on my 2024 model, including this one. The other two were related to software updates. I haven’t had a chance to test it yet, but I’ll provide an update later. Overall, my experience with the dealer has been quite positive.
