Four years later and it's finally done

I finally own my car after four years of payments. Feels surreal .

Congrats on owning it outright! No more payments driving you nuts. Now you can focus on the road instead.

I think you mean wife driving me nuts, not the payments .

Did you lower it?

Nope, the only thing I added was the factory running boards.

Got it, thanks for sharing.

Are the running boards actually useful? They look so narrow.

@Rowen
I mainly got them for the looks, but the kids use them a lot.

That’s great to hear. I just paid cash when I bought mine.

That’s the way to do it if you can. No stress of payments!

Congrats, my friend! I’ve seen you post on this forum for years and it’s great to see you finally own your car. Keep saving what would’ve been your car payment—it’ll make things easier when you eventually upgrade.

Have you had any issues with the trim fading on the doors or window edges?

Ours faded badly, but warranty covered replacing all the trim pieces.

I hadn’t even noticed it, honestly. I’ll check next time.

@Ronald
We used a product called Solution Finish on our Jeep’s trim. Took some effort but it’s holding up great even after a year.

Not really, but I’ve seen some tiny spots that look like rust. Maybe if I’d cleaned it better, they wouldn’t be there, but they’re not very noticeable.

I think the fading is more common in newer models. I’ve got a 2020 and haven’t had any issues yet, but it’s a big topic on this forum for the newer ones.

@Zachariah
Every car wash makes me a bit nervous now. Fingers crossed my '22 doesn’t start having those problems.
