Excited About My First Kia…

Just got my 2021 SX Prestige with 26k miles. It drives like a dream and the blonde leather interior is stunning. I’m loving my new mom car. My old 2014 car didn’t even have a backup camera. It comes with a warranty up to 100k miles. Any tips for maintenance?

That’s awesome

Make sure to change the oil every 5000 miles or less. Read the manual for guidance. If you live in a snowy area, rust proof it.

No snow here, but I’m used to changing oil every 5k from my last car. Thanks for the advice

@MatthewGonzalez
Congratulations! I have a 2023 Sorento Prestige and it’s the best vehicle I’ve owned. I enjoy the tech features, the style, and the interior. My manual suggests changing the oil every 7,000 miles, but I do it at 5,000 since I’ve had it for nine months. I don’t drive much, so I change the oil every few months. Not sure why I do that, but it works for me. I also rotate my tires every 5,000 miles, but I think they’re softer for a smoother ride. I want them to last as long as possible.

@SoulSeeker
Thank you! They really are nice cars. I specifically wanted the blonde interior, so that was hard to find. It feels great to love my car for the first time. Do you use the third row often?

I have a 2021 Sorento since the new body style was released and I really enjoy it. The captain seats are great for driving my son’s teammates around when the third row is up. I’ve had two Sportages before and always did my maintenance at the dealer, taking mine in every 5000 miles. I only went outside the dealer for new tires at around 45k miles. Keep those coupons you get in the mail for oil changes.

@Amanda
Sounds good

I wish the Sorento didn’t have three rows

Why not? Just fold the third row down and enjoy the extra cargo space.

Absolutely, so much space

I just don’t want a car that long. It feels too big.

@KingKong
They also make the Sportage…

Yeah! I’m actually buying one on Monday. I love the Sorento’s look.

I had a Sportage park next to me, and at first glance, I thought it was a Sorento.

@KingKong
Then just get a different car? I love it because it’s big.

@KingKong
Then don’t buy one.

Yes, no kidding

@KingKong
I think it fits well as a small SUV. The trunk space is great. I keep my third row down but have needed it several times. It has worked for me. The Sportage felt too small for me, and I used to own a Lexus IS250, which was tiny inside.
