That is exactly what I was wondering too. They keep talking about a USB cable, but it’s not as simple as just plugging it into the dashboard to start the car. The cars being stolen often have traditional metal keys, like older models before push-button starts became common. To steal these cars, thieves usually have to destroy the steering lock using a screwdriver and hammer it’s not an easy task. Any car without an immobilizer system is at risk, not just Kias. For example, some Nissan vans and even my old 1998 Subaru don’t have immobilizers either. Just a heads-up don’t share this with the Kia enthusiasts!
