Hi all, I’m planning to pull the motor on my 2009 Kia Sorento AWD. It’s got the 3.3L engine. Anyone have a step-by-step guide or tips on this?
I’ve done this before on a Sorento. Make sure you have the right tools on hand, especially for disconnecting the AWD components. Do you have a procedure document?

Thanks! I got a couple of links from a tech online, but one seems broken. If you have any step-by-step info, that’d be awesome.
Did you already drop the ‘transfer case’? In Kias, they refer to it as the ‘automatic transaxle system.’

Not yet—was actually looking for a guide on that too. Any tips for handling the transaxle?

You’ll want to support it well since it’s heavy. Look up torque specs if you’re reassembling it later.
Quick tip: label all wiring and take pictures before disassembly. It’s a lifesaver when you’re putting everything back.

Great advice, thanks! I’ll definitely take a bunch of pics.
If you need additional help, try a manual for torque specs and tightening sequences. Makes reassembly smoother.

Will do. Thanks for the help, everyone!
