Hey everyone, I’m considering getting the 2025 Kia Soul and was curious about the warranty coverage. I’ve heard Kia offers really solid warranties, but does anyone know the specifics? Like, how long is the coverage and what’s actually protected? Any info would be super helpful!
Oh yeah, Kia’s warranty is pretty awesome. The Basic Warranty is 5 years/60,000 miles, and the Powertrain Warranty is 10 years/100,000 miles. It’s one of the best in the game, IMO.

Wait, what’s a Powertrain Warranty exactly?
@Jane
No worries! It covers major parts like the engine, transmission, and drivetrain components. Basically, the stuff that makes the car move.
@Jane
Thanks for clearing that up, ABC! Makes sense now.
FYI, the Anti-Perforation Warranty is 5 years/100,000 miles. It covers rust damage that creates actual holes in the body panels. Super handy if you live in a place with rough winters.

Rust damage, huh? Does that mean surface rust isn’t covered?
@Myles
Yeah, unfortunately surface rust isn’t covered. It only kicks in if there’s a rust-through hole.
The Roadside Assistance is cool too! 5 years/60,000 miles, and it covers stuff like towing, flat tires, and lockout help. Makes road trips way less stressful, lol.

Dang, that’s pretty solid. Does it cover repairs too or just the basics?
@Benard
Just the basics like towing to a Kia service center. If you need repairs, that’s on you, unfortunately.
Heads up, if you’re thinking of selling, the warranties are transferable. But the Powertrain drops to 5 years/60,000 miles for the next owner. Still better than a lot of other brands, though.

Good to know! So even the transfer makes it decent?
@SportageSpur
Totally. It helps with resale value too. People love buying cars with some warranty left.
If you ever need extended coverage, Kia dealers offer extra plans. But tbh, the standard coverage is already pretty generous.

Anyone tried the extended plans? Are they worth it?
@OptimaEnthusiast
Depends on how long you plan to keep the car. If you’re keeping it forever, it could be worth it. Otherwise, maybe not.
