I’ve been hearing a lot about how Kia Souls are supposed to be super reliable and last a long time… but can they actually go over 200k miles? Anyone here have experience with that? I’m thinking about getting one but not sure if it’s worth it.
I’ve had my Soul for almost 150k miles! It’s been running great with just the usual maintenance. I think if you keep up with oil changes and stuff, it can definitely last over 200k.

150k miles is impressive! Do you stick to the dealer’s maintenance schedule or just wing it?
@Rafaela
I try to follow the maintenance schedule as close as possible. The dealer’s recommendations seem to help a lot with keeping it smooth.
@Rafaela
Good to know! I’ve been slacking on mine… guess I should start following it better lol.
FYI, the newer Souls have CVT transmissions which need extra care. If you get one of those, keep an eye on the fluid changes.

What’s a CVT? Not sure if I have that in mine.
@Lucypiper
CVT stands for Continuously Variable Transmission. It’s a different type of automatic transmission that can be a bit sensitive if not maintained well.
@Lucypiper
Yeah, CVTs can be tricky… regular fluid changes are a must!
My cousin’s Soul made it to 200k and still going strong! They swear by using high-quality parts and fluids, especially the oil and filters.

That’s good to hear! I didn’t know using specific parts could make that big of a difference.
@VALENNA
Yep, it can really help. Cheap parts don’t last as long and could mess with the car’s performance over time.

I’ll definitely remember that. Going for quality parts sounds like a solid investment.
Don’t forget the suspension! Mine needed some work around 100k miles, but other than that, it’s been solid.

Interesting! What kind of suspension issues did you have?
@Lisa
Mostly just wear and tear stuff like the shocks and struts. They needed replacing but nothing major.
@Lisa
Good to know! I’ve been hearing suspension work is pretty common around that mileage.
Anyone else had issues with the electrical stuff? My sensors go a little wonky sometimes.

Yeah, same here! Mine had a sensor glitch, but it was an easy fix. Just gotta keep an eye on it.
@Kookhyun
Glad to know it’s not just me. Guess I’ll get it checked out soon.
