Anyone else with frozen Sorento radio after just a few months?

My Sorento’s display won’t let me switch between Sirius, FM, or AM radio. This issue started exactly three months after buying the vehicle. I initially thought it could be because the free Sirius trial expired, but I already transferred my subscription to this car, so that shouldn’t be the problem.

Sirius customer service hasn’t found any solution yet, so I’m not sure if it’s on their end or if Kia is responsible.

Here’s a link to a video of someone experiencing the same issue:

You should download the October 2022 navigation update. They fixed a bug with radio functionality in mid-February.

Just go to update.kia.com, use the navigation updater program, and get a 64 GB USB stick. Once you install the update, it should resolve your issue.

I actually had to do this during my vacation, in a hotel parking lot. My Sportage did the same thing, only Bluetooth worked…everything else was fine until I tried switching to the radio.

@ElizaFord
This worked perfectly! It was the only solution that fixed it. Thanks a lot!

Trying it out now, thanks for the suggestion.

Probably a silly question, but is it just as easy as plugging in the USB with the file on it? And where exactly is the USB port located in the car?

@renatahilda
*Oh, I mean the USB port, not the drive

I’ve had similar issues with my 2022 10.25-inch display. My AM, FM, and Sirius radio stopped working at one point. The first time, I had to disconnect the battery for over 30 minutes and reset it through the navigation system because the GPS was just spinning around, and even Google Maps was acting up. Make sure you have the latest navigation files, then do the update again if needed. It fixed my radio issues without a full reset. My system has done this three times, and the dealer hasn’t been able to help.

Have you tried the reset button?

Does pressing the reset button help?

I tried the reset button and also removed the multimedia fuse, but neither worked.
