Anyone Else Waiting Months for a Warrantied Kia Cadenza Engine?

Good evening…

I’m in Jacksonville, FL, and we’ve been waiting forever to get a new engine for our 2016 Kia Cadenza. It’s got around 162k miles, and back in Feb/Mar, it started overheating out of nowhere. After taking it to three different shops, they all said it needed a new engine—which we definitely can’t afford, especially since we still owe money on it.
Luckily, a couple of weeks later, we got a letter from Kia Motors saying they extended the engine warranty up to 180,000 miles for this exact problem. We were so relieved! Took it to the closest Kia dealership the very next day, and by May, we were told our warranty claim was approved, and they’d replace it with a remanufactured engine. :disappointed: :weary:
But now, it’s September 2024, and we’re still waiting. The dealership keeps saying the engine’s on backorder, and that’s all we’ve heard for months.Anyone else in Florida—or anywhere else—dealing with this? Has anyone been told their engine is on backorder too? It’s our only car (thankfully I’ve got a work truck), but it sucks paying for a car that’s just sitting at the dealership.

awaiting your advice on this…

Sadly, it appears that you are not by yourself. Significant delays in the delivery of replacement engines under warranty have been observed by several Kia Cadenza owners.

The availability of automobile parts  worldwide has been hampered by global supply chain interruptions, which are frequently blamed for this problem.

Make direct contact with Kia’s corporate customer service department. They might be able to speed up the procedure or give more precise information about the anticipated wait time. :innocent:

Participate :smile:in online communities or forums for owners of Kia Cadenzas. It’s possible that other owners have dealt with comparable problems and can give their insights or recommendations.

If the delay is putting you through a lot of difficulty financially or in terms of inconvenience, you might wish to speak with an attorney to learn more about your legal alternatives. :unamused:
