I went to fill up my tank today, left the doors unlocked, but the gas door just wouldn’t open. Tried locking and unlocking a few times, even kept the door open, but still no luck. Has anyone else dealt with this before?
Yep, happened to me last week. Got so frustrated, I even tried hitting it with my fist, lol. It finally worked after a bit, almost like it was stuck for no reason. Maybe it’s a glitch?

Haha, been there. I tried everything, even thought of prying it open. I think it’s something with the locking system.
@Aydin
Thanks, guys. Took it to the dealership, and they told me the actuator’s gone bad. They managed to remove it, so I can open it manually for now.
I’ve had this happen at the gas station too. Had to keep locking and unlocking, and eventually, it opened. For me, it seems related to the auto stop/start feature. I stopped using it, and the problem disappeared.
@Miltan
That’s interesting. I don’t use the stop/start feature, and I’ve never had this issue. I always open the driver’s side door when fueling though.
@Miltan
I didn’t have the auto stop/start on when it happened to me, so I think there might be more to it. Hope it doesn’t happen again
This just happened to me yesterday. My partner gave up trying to open it, but it magically opened when we got back home. Still can’t get it to work consistently though.
Anyone notice if this happens more when it’s cold out? Just a random thought. My friend said it’s been acting up only in colder months.

Interesting… I think it might be temperature-related for some, but mine’s been random. No specific weather issues for me.
