Hey everyone, wanted to see if any of you are dealing with the same radio problem my partner and I are facing with our 2023 Sorento SX Prestige. On Saturday, we went on a short trip and listened to the radio during the drive. After we arrived, we just used Bluetooth for the rest of the day and didn’t touch the radio. The next morning, when I tried to turn it on, it wouldn’t work at all. FM, AM, Sirius… nothing worked. Bluetooth still connects, though.
I’ve looked online, and all I’m finding are videos of people with the same problem but no solid solutions. Seems like it’s an issue with Kia and even some Hyundai SUVs too. There are a few suggested fixes, but some people say you might have to replace the whole display—which feels extreme, especially with parts taking forever to arrive in the U.S. Thought I’d check here first to see if anyone has figured out an easier fix. I checked the Kia updates site, but the only update available was for navigation.
hi, i’m having the same issue with my 2023 sorento. would you mind sharing the link and steps for the update? i’m not too tech-savvy.
thanks,
dana

Here’s the video I used to fix it. You’ll need a 40GB USB drive and will need to download some software onto it from your computer, then load it into your car. Once I watched the video, it was pretty straightforward. Hope this helps!
after using Apple Car Play for maps, our radio started acting up. it kept flashing, wouldn’t come on, and so on. took it to the dealer, and they agreed to order a new radio. but then my son downloaded an update for the car. after resetting the radio and applying the update, it’s been fine. fingers crossed it stays that way.

Since we did the update, ours has worked consistently. it’s strange the dealership doesn’t know about this fix. makes you wonder why they haven’t figured it out.
Just wanted to let everyone know I got the update done, and now the radio is working again! Thanks for all the responses
Have you tried the reset button on the head unit, near the volume knob? Check the owner’s manual if you need instructions.
Would you consider trying the latest update on the Kia website? I read that the 2023 May update helped some people with similar issues.
@Kimberly
Yes, that’s the one. I believe there’s only been one update for 2023. If your car was built in 2022, try the update and let us know if it works.
