Anyone else dealing with seat discomfort in the new Kia Sportage? Just bought mine a week ago, and I’m struggling. Tried different cushions, but no luck. Any suggestions on making it more comfortable?
Not an issue for me, and I’m 6’0" and 240 lbs.

I’m 6’4" and around the same weight, and no problems with my 2023 model. Did they change something with the 2025?

I have a 2024 Tucson—6’2" and 240 lbs. I love the seats, but I’ve also seen complaints about the 2025 Tucson seats.
Maybe they shortened the front seats for extra legroom in both cars? Just got back from a long road trip, and no issues with my back in the Kia or Hyundai. My old Ford, though… I had to stop way more often.
I’ve got a 2025 Sportage and also a 2025 Telluride, and no issues with the seats. I’m 6’2". Are you on the taller side or wider? Did you get a chance to test drive before buying?

I’m actually pretty petite. I test drove twice, but during the 40-minute drive home after getting it, I realized there might be a problem. It’s tough since comfort can be so personal. I’ll keep trying out different options first.

Do you have any suggestions on cars that worked for you before?

I had a 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I switched to the AWD Sportage hoping for a smoother ride compared to the Jeep’s 4-wheel drive. I did like the Cherokee, though it didn’t have all the extras the Sportage has. My family has 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokees, which are nice, but at 5 feet tall, I can barely see over the hood. If I could redo this, I might test out a few rentals first and probably buy a used car next time to avoid losing so much value right off the lot. The Sportage is great in other ways though.
I’m 6’2" with a 2023 Sportage, and I find mine very comfortable. Way better than the seats in the 2015 Cadenza I had before.
Have you tried adjusting the thigh and lumbar support?

Thanks for the idea! I’ve been adjusting them a lot, but still no luck. I might end up needing to sell it, as someone else on here mentioned they might have to do too.
@Myles
That’s rough. It’s hard to let go of a car over something like seat comfort.

Thanks for understanding and sharing ideas
Is the problem that the seat’s too hard or something?

I think that’s part of it, but maybe it’s also the seat design? The sides feel higher than other cars I’ve owned. For reference, I’m pretty lightweight and short.
@Myles
Got it. That’s tough… would be interesting to see a pic.
Does it have power seating with lumbar support? I’m also on the shorter side and use a lot of cushions for office chairs, but my 2021 Kia is fine because of the power seating. I do use a cushion for my neck though.
@TurboSoulMate
Yeah, it has 8-way power seats and lumbar support. It’s the SX Sportage with AWD.
@Myles
Since you’re on the shorter side, maybe try a Purple cushion? It’s supposed to be thicker and pretty comfortable.

Thanks! I’ll try that. I’m currently testing a throw pillow with a wedge. Feels like it could be a sciatic nerve issue.

Do you know if the Purple cushion has different types?
