Hi everyone, I’ve got ABS codes C1206 and C1209 on my 2017 Kia Sorento LX FWD. These seem to point to the rear wheel speed sensors, but I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the sensors themselves, wiring, or something with the wheel hub. I got new tires about 3-4 months ago, and no issues with brakes or ABS when driving. Has anyone fixed this issue on their own, or know if it’s a rear or front sensor wiring problem?
C1206 usually relates to the left rear sensor, and C1209 is the right rear sensor. It could be a faulty sensor or an issue with the wiring.

Thanks, good to know. I’ll check the wiring connections first to see if that’s the issue.
If you’re seeing only front sensor wires listed online, it might be that the rear sensor wires are a dealer-only part. I had to call the dealership directly to find mine.

I’ll give the dealer a call. Appreciate the tip.
Usually, if it’s throwing a code, the sensor is likely the issue. You might be able to order the sensors directly from Kia if they’re dealer-specific.
It’s also worth checking to see if there’s any corrosion or debris near the sensor connectors. Sometimes dirt can cause intermittent issues.
I’d recommend scanning for any additional codes as well, just in case there’s something else related.
