2017 Kia Forte Engine Problem

I recently had an issue with my 2017 Kia Forte where the camshaft sensor went out. I took it to an auto body shop, and the mechanic informed me that my engine is dying and seems to be burning oil extremely fast. I was down to a quarter tank of oil after just having it filled up two weeks ago.

The mechanic recommended that I consider trading it in while it’s still running. I’m unsure if this is the right choice. Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their Kia Forte? Should I look into trading it in now, or is there a chance of fixing it?

Hey MissNicklaus!

Sorry to hear about your car troubles. It sounds like you’re dealing with some pretty significant issues.

The camshaft sensor going out and burning oil rapidly are definitely red flags. If your engine is burning oil quickly, it could be a sign of more serious internal problems.

Before making any decisions, it might be worth getting a second opinion from another mechanic to confirm the diagnosis and get a better understanding of the repair costs.

Sometimes, issues like these can be fixed, but it might be expensive, and it’s important to weigh that against the value of your car.

If the repair costs are too high and your car’s value is decreasing, trading it in might be a good option.

Ultimately, it depends on how much you’re willing to invest in fixing it versus the potential trade-in value.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

You gotta take up on the mechanic’s advice on that.

Your 2017 Kia Forte might have serious engine issues. Get a second mechanic’s opinion before deciding to trade it in or repair it. Consider the cost of repairs vs. the value of the car when making your decision.
