2016 Kia Sorento misfire on cylinder 1 and can't find the part?

My son has a 2016 Kia Sorento, and it’s been showing a cylinder 1 misfire with a check engine light. The mechanic says they can’t find the part needed to fix it (an ignition coil connector, labeled as Pa66-gf30). I’m trying to help him from out of state since the car is in Colorado Springs, and I’m in Georgia. The mechanic suggested checking dealerships or junkyards, but I’m wondering if anyone else has dealt with this issue or knows where to get the part?

I’d check with the parts department at a Kia dealership first. They should have that part in stock for a 2016 model.

Agreed. If the dealership doesn’t have it, try online retailers like Mouser Electronics or RockAuto. They sometimes carry hard-to-find connectors.

A junkyard is a good option if you can’t find the part new. Just make sure it’s in good condition and not brittle from age.

Yeah, junkyards can be hit or miss, but it’s worth a shot. Sometimes they’ll even pull the part for you if you call ahead.

A cylinder 1 misfire can cause long-term damage if left unfixed. It’s best to avoid driving the car until it’s repaired. Worst case, it could damage the catalytic converter.

Have you tried contacting a local Kia mechanic in Colorado Springs? They might have more resources or suggestions for finding the part.

If you’re stuck, you can try wiring a generic connector temporarily, but I’d only do that if you’re confident in your repair skills.

That’s a good suggestion, but I’d recommend only using that as a last resort. Better to get the exact part if you can.
