2012 Kia Soul UVO Stereo Issues – Need Help Getting Sound

I have a stereo from a 2012 Kia Soul that I just got. I bought a wire plug for it, but it has 2 plugs and about 900 wires. I’m trying to get sound out of it, but no luck so far. Is there something I’m missing? Are there specific wires I need to connect to get sound?

Did you buy an aftermarket wire harness to plug it in or did you cut off the old harness? You should check the wire pin-out for the 2012 Kia Soul stereo. That will show you what each wire does and where to connect it.

Never mind, I see you mentioned it has 2 plugs. Let me look into it.

I lost the old plugs and just found this stereo recently. I ordered some plugs from Amazon and hooked them up. It powers on, but no sound. Not sure what’s missing.

Check the stereo pinout on Google. I found the ones for the 2010-2016 models. That should help.

You might need to hard-wire the speakers from the Amazon plugs to the Kia wire harness. You could pull the speaker wires from the Amazon plug and use a splice connector kit to wire them to the Kia harness without damaging it.

I tried hooking everything up, but still no sound at all. It feels like something is missing. No matter what I do, I just can’t get any sound out of the radio.

That’s probably why I stopped messing with it before. I just can’t remember if it worked then or not.

@Zachary
As far as I remember, it seemed like something specific needed to be hooked up, but I just can’t remember what it was.
