Hey everyone, I’ve got a 2007 Kia with a new battery and alternator. Brought it home last Saturday and it ran fine, but after an hour it wouldn’t crank at all. Swapped in a fresh battery, and it worked. Haven’t driven it since, and now it’s dead again! Anyone know what could cause this?
That sounds like it could be a parasitic drain. I had a similar issue once, and it turned out to be a loose wire.

Same here! I had to check each fuse one by one. Took forever but worth it in the end.

A drain, huh? I didn’t even think of that. Guess I’ve got some investigating to do… thanks!
Could be the alternator not charging properly. Even new parts can sometimes be faulty.

Yeah, sometimes they don’t work right out of the box. Might be worth getting it tested.

Great tip! I’ll get it checked just in case.
Sometimes it’s just a fuse or relay that doesn’t cut off properly when you turn the car off.

Totally possible! Check the fuse box to see if anything’s sticking.
Had a friend with the same issue… they had to install a battery cutoff switch to stop the drain.

Interesting idea, might be a last resort if nothing else works. Thanks for the idea!
Look up parasitic battery drain tests on YouTube, could help pinpoint the problem.

Great idea, I’ll look into that. Thanks for the tip!
