Looks like my window trim has failed me. Anyone know what I can expect from the dealership? Share the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Had the same issue on my 2024 SXP. There’s a recall for this, so check with your dealer if your VIN is affected. If it’s on the list, the wait might be longer since recalled parts are prioritised differently. But if you’re not on the list, they might get the parts quicker. Make sure they replace all the trims, not just the one that came loose.

Good to know, thanks for the heads-up.

You might want to act fast with your dealership. The parts are back-ordered everywhere. I’ve been waiting three months already! First, the front door trims arrived after two months, then one back door trim in the third month. Still waiting on the last one. Mine’s a 2024 Telluride Prestige X-Line, and all the trims are coming loose. It’s frustrating and looks awful.
@Harris
I drive a 2022 SX-P. Any idea why this is happening more with newer models when the trims weren’t changed?

Right? Apparently, they’re making the parts at a plant specifically handling the recall, but they’ve got existing stock somewhere else. If you’re not on the recall list, they might pull from that stock. Could be dealership talk, but mine wasn’t recalled, and I got the parts in two weeks.
I’ve been waiting four months for mine.

Hope it doesn’t take that long for me.

I’ve been at five months and still no parts.
That trim is absolute garbage. Kia must know by now but seems too cheap or stubborn to properly address it.

I heard they’re redesigning the trims entirely, which is why the parts are so delayed.

My dealer said the same thing. They admitted it’s a poor design.
What years are affected? Is it just specific models? Does this happen with both chrome and black trim? Any updates for 2024 or 2025?

Mine’s a 2024 S. From what people have shared here, it seems to affect both chrome and black trim.

I just bought a certified 2022 Telluride EX, and the dealership said it’s a known problem. They suggested booking an appointment to file a claim. Seems straightforward?
I’ve been waiting since June. How do I get them to stop giving me excuses and just get the parts? Is there some way to speed this up? It’s been five out of eight months of owning this car dealing with this.
@Arthur
I heard that if it’s part of a recall, it takes longer. If it’s not, you might get it quicker.
Just got all four trims replaced last Thursday. They refused to order black, so now I’ve got to pay to have it wrapped again. So annoying.

Do you have chrome elsewhere? I might ask for black trims instead since I actually prefer the look. Still annoyed they fell off, though.
