Hyundai tends to have a clearer market segment in the West, offering low-cost, well-composed vehicles that compete with Nissan, Toyota, and Honda. They focus on reliability, affordability, and are branching out to enthusiasts with the N Performance line.

Kia, on the other hand, offers vehicles across various price points, from the base Soul to the fully loaded Stinger/K900. They seem to target a more up-market segment, emphasizing daily drivers and universal appeal.
