I wanted to purchase a bespoke exhaust for my 2024 FWD GT Line. In terms of exhaust work, what violates the warranty? Do coilovers damage the warranty? That is something else I was considering.
Many folks are constantly asking, “What breaches my 1.6T?” Can I make an exhaust? How about cold air intake? What can be done to increase power and improve sound quality? These people should have gone full GT from the start and not let the dealer to explain, “Yes, it is a GT just more inexpensive, which is why it is a GT Line.” I had the GT Line. Do not modify it. Simply put the vehicle in positive equity and exchange for the GT. Many individuals have looked, and some have not, including myself. Do not put money in a 1.6T alimentary getter. Put the money in the GT.
Concerning achieving maximum power out of the 1.6, I have to concur. The GT is a terrific vehicle as well.
@StingerKing And all the people who have a gt start smiling too. JB4, downpipe, and pedal adjusters. Which is absurd since the front-wheel drive GT is only capable of producing a small amount of what it’s capable of. Hence, by all means, allow this individual to tweak the 1.6t. I am going to install a jb4 in addition to the cool air inlet I placed on my GT line. Whichever vehicle I drive is irrelevant. Whatever I do, I will do it always.
Really nothing. If an aftermarket part created a specific problem, they might not do a warranty repair, but exhaust work would not void the warranty entirely. For example, they cannot say that your head unit is defective and cannot be repaired if it dies within the 3 year/36k mile complete warranty.
I would only lose my warranty if my exhaust caused the problem, right? Would getting coil overs just render its suspension component void?
Essentially, the warranty cannot be completely void just by making changes to the car; they must have a valid cause for not doing a specific warranty repair. I will not go into too much detail about it here. Idealistically, the problem would typically fall under warranty coverage if the suspension modifications or the exhaust were the source of it.
