I’ll be getting a new GT-Line AWD as a birthday present. What should I expect from this car?
You’re going to love it, it’s an amazing vehicle.
I absolutely love mine! I have a 2025 K5 GT-Line AWD. The interior and seats are way more comfortable than my 2023 GT Line. The engine is different. I have no complaints, it’s my third one.
I recently upgraded from a 2022 to a 2025 GT Line. Some changes I noticed include: the cup holder is now larger and square, perfect for 1-liter Fuji water bottles. The 2025 GT Line also comes with heated seats, which my 2022 didn’t have. The wireless phone charger has moved, and now you lay your phone flat at the base of the console. The connectors for attaching your phone have changed, and I believe it’s USBC. The new software integrates with Google, which my 2022 struggled with. One thing I don’t like is the new control row; there’s just one now for both entertainment and environment modes. The turbo seems to kick in harder, and the RPMs stay up longer than my 2022. Overall, I still love the car.
@DaniellaSilva
The 2025 GT-Line has a 2.5 naturally aspirated engine, no turbo. That might explain the different feel when you accelerate.
The cup holders are only good for a Fuji or Gatorade bottle. I have to hold my Helimix when taking turns. The AC controls are poorly designed, and I think it’s a safety issue. The wireless charger placement forces you to work around whatever bottle you have in the cup holder. The factory tires are awful, but the ride improves with Continental DWS06. Gas mileage isn’t great for AWD. Overall, I do love the car, though. I just wish the survey they gave me asked about these issues instead of asking if I’d pay more for each feature.
Even the upgraded audio system is terrible.

That’s your opinion. I think the Bose system sounds outstanding, especially compared to my previous car’s stock stereo.

If you search this forum, you’ll see that many others agree with me.
I have the 2025 K5 GT-Line AWD, and it performed surprisingly well in the snow and on my icy driveway. I went from a 2022 to a 2025 and love it. I miss some features from the 2022, but overall the 2025 is a great car.
It has less horsepower than a Toyota Camry. I don’t want to burst your bubble, but I’m living in regret. The interior is amazing, I wouldn’t trade it for the world, but the tires and suspension are weak. You drive over a rock, and the car shakes all over the place.
@LebronJames
Horsepower isn’t a big concern for me, thankfully. Tires and suspension are replaceable. Outside of these things, do you think there’s anything else that might be an issue?

The suspension on my GT offers the smoothest ride of any car I’ve had. Unless the GT Line is radically different, I don’t see the issue.
@Yoon
The only difference is that yours has a ‘sport tuned’ suspension. I guess that means it’s a bit firmer? Either way, I’m not too worried about something that can be fixed with some work.

I use a custom drive mode with the steering and powertrain on Sport and the suspension on Comfort.
@Yoon
The suspension feels fine for me. I don’t know what the other guy is talking about. It has plenty of power for the average driver. I always drive in Sport mode.

Sport-tuned suspension probably means stiffer springs. Stiffer springs improve handling but worsen ride quality.
@WilliamMia
Logically, yes. But the GT feels very smooth. I’ve heard GT owners get loaned a GT-Line and feel the difference, but I’m not sure how they manage both.
@LebronJames
No, you’re good.
It’s a Kia. Don’t set your expectations too high, and make sure you test drive it first.
