What kia engines are being recalled?

Is there a safety recall for certain models of KIA cars in 2024? And for what exact reasons?

There isn’t a recall specifically for Kia engines themselves but there is a large recall that affects many Kia vehicles from model years 2010 to 2019 due to a potential engine compartment fire risk.

Kia’s safety recall (NHTSA ID: 23V-652000) applies to the following vehicles and model years: 2014-2016 Cadenza, 2011-2013 Forte/Forte Koup, 2015-2017 K900, 2010-2015 Optima, 2011-2013 Optima Hybrid, 2011-2017 Rio, 2010 Rondo, 2011-2014 Sorento, 2011-2013 Soul and 2010-2013 Sportage.

You’ll have to wait it out or pay up front and hope for reimbursement if Kia isn’t willing to take any action right now. Even if Kia is mistreating its clients here, it’s a bad bargain still. I’m playing the long game right now because I had to spend the money.

It amazes me that anyone would purchase a Kia or Hyundai going forward with all of these engine problems and “Tik-Tok” troubles. especially since, knowing full well that the update would not resolve the problem, they sandwiched it with a phony “engine knock update” instead of fixing the real one. Furthermore, it is not acceptable to reject claims if the patch is ineffective in stopping the failure.

Kia is recalling 1,075 of its 2024 Sportage vehicles. According to the NHTSA report, the automaker stated that the circuit board in the motor-driven power steering assembly may short circuit, potentially leading to a loss of power steering assist.

KIA EV6. Certain 2022-2024 model year EV6 vehicles have been recalled due to a defect in the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). This defect may cause damage from transient high voltage and thermal cycling, leading to a gradual discharge of the 12-volt battery while driving, with progressive reductions in drive power.
