That’s a pre-production model. Testing it on the road is normal, and it looks like that because they are trying to hide the body shape from cameras.

The area around Va/WV/Md near Winchester, VA, was used to test GM products. I saw a lot of disguised cars on the roads there! Never got a good photo though because of the two-lane roads.
