What does this button even do?

Can someone tell me what this button does on my Sorento? I have no clue…

That’s the lane-keeping button. Turns it on or off.

One of the best features on my Sorento. Helps keep you in the lane.

100% agree. I rented a Wagoneer recently, and the lane-keeping tech wasn’t as good.

I wanted to hate it at first. Lane departure warnings drive me nuts. But now I actually like it, especially on long drives.

@Cindy
Same here. Thought it would be annoying, but now I can’t drive without it.

Pretty sure if you press it, your glovebox opens and hands you the manual so you can check what every button does.

Perfect for people who are always zoned out.

Can confirm.

Yeah, the safety features are solid. The materials on this gen feel cheaper compared to my 2017 LX though. But I’m sticking with Kia because those blind spot cameras are a lifesaver.

It’s for lane keep and steering assist.

Tap it for steering assist.

Hold it for lane assist, which I think is always on by default, but steering assist isn’t.

What’s the difference? Lane assist doesn’t seem to actually do anything, but steering assist is really noticeable.

If you press it, your manual magically opens to the page explaining the button.

You beat me to it .

Be careful using it in the city. Sometimes it’s on, sometimes it’s off, no warning. Could be risky. But it’s great on highways with well-marked lanes.

Yeah, it needs to clearly see both lane markings. If the lines aren’t visible, it turns off.

That’s lane assist. Most cars with power steering have it, but not all. I used to be a tech, and I have mixed feelings about it.

It kind of fights you for control of the wheel sometimes, which I don’t like.

I don’t get why people refuse to check the manual.

It has an index, right? Should take less than a minute to find the page you need.

If it doesn’t have an index, then yeah, that’s annoying.

I keep telling people to read the manual! Also, shouting ‘lemon law’ seems to be the go-to move in this forum.

Honestly, it would’ve taken less time to just check the manual than to post this here…
