They can get electrical issues pretty quickly… backup cam sometimes stops working, screen freezes or goes green.
@KiaDiva
My dad’s 2020 Sonata hasn’t had any issues like that.
@KiaDiva
So, normal car issues? That can happen with any brand.

Friend had one with those exact problems, went back for warranty repair at least 8 times. They couldn’t really fix it, so he just ended up selling it.
@ElizaFord
Wow, so was it considered a lemon? Is this a Kia thing?

The dealership said it’s a known issue, seems like software. One person even had to return their car about 26 times before giving up and moving on to another vehicle.
They look nice, but trust me, the engine’s no good.

Can you even say what’s under the hood without looking it up? Bet you just saw the Kia badge and assumed it’s got the Theta II engine. Wrong. Care to explain?
@hoopermalt
Hyundai and Kia engines often have issues, old or new. Just a heads up to get an extended warranty… they don’t seem to care if engines burn oil or break down.

Back this up with proof. Show me where you’re getting these ideas about the new engines.
@hoopermalt
Don’t need proof, I’ve owned multiple Kias and Hyundais and dealt with lots of problems (thanks to the dealership and warranty). But hey, good luck with yours… and the color looks great.

What models and years? I’ve been driving Kias for 10 years now… bet you haven’t even owned one with the new logo.
@hoopermalt
Had a 2021 K5 and a 2017. The 2021 had issues with oil and gas consumption, plus some electrical stuff.

The 2021 K5 was the first model year, so yeah, they tend to have some issues… and I’m pretty sure your engine isn’t the same as mine.
@hoopermalt
Mine was the 1.6T GDI… it felt really underpowered. Just think they missed on quality.

Kia actually stopped putting that engine in the K5. They upgraded it after the first run.
