So how did I do on this deal… any thoughts?

A couple of weeks ago, I asked for advice about a low-mileage car with a tech package that was being sold locally. Prices in my area (SF Bay Area) are pretty high, so I wanted to see if anyone had thoughts. I did some research, and here’s what I ended up with: 2023 GT-LINE AWD, new, for about $1k more than the car I was originally looking at. Big thanks to everyone here for the advice!

If that’s not made up, congrats on getting a great deal that’s hard to beat.

I hope it’s not made up. At first, I had my doubts, but then someone posted last week that they bought a car from the same lot. I’ll know for sure once it gets delivered, but for now, I have the contract, the loan, and the app connected to it.

@Johnstone
Let the dealer know I’ll take one at that price. If they have another, I’ll grab it for my son.

That’s awesome! They did have another one with almost the same specs, but it sold just before I locked mine in.

@Johnstone
Any chance you’d be willing to DM a copy of your redacted contract? I found a similar 2023 on my side of the country, but it’s $10k more. A contract would help me convince my local dealer to offer a better deal.

@August
Sure, I’ll send it over this evening.

Thanks .

Was this a salvaged title car?

Wow, I’ve been looking too. Could you send me a copy of your contract? It would really help. The dealers near me are still asking a lot for their 2023 models.

They’ll keep asking a lot. It’s up to you to find someone who needs to move inventory.

Nice, no touch-up paint on that car?

Fingers crossed! This is my first time buying a car fully remotely, so I’m anxious to check it over when it gets here. I did a video walk-around with the sales guy, but I’ll see it in person soon. It’s brand new off the lot, so I’m hoping there are no issues.

@Johnstone
I did a remote purchase from Ferguson Superstore in Broken Arrow, OK, and everything went perfectly.

Sounds solid. Hope it’s in great condition when it’s delivered and has everything you need.

How is the tax handled? And how many miles did it have?

I’ll still need to pay tax, but I’m registering it myself once it arrives. The final price is $3k more for tax, registration, and $1100 for transport. It has about 150 miles.

@Johnstone
Even with the tax and transport fees, that’s still a fantastic deal! Good find, and you’ll love it!

I just got a 2022 GT-Line AWD with 19K miles for $32K OTD (including taxes, tags, etc.). I also got a lot more for my trade-in than anyone else was offering. Seems like a good deal to me.
