Peeling Paint on 2018 Kia Sportage—Anyone Else?

Good afternoon…

Anyone else having issues with paint peeling on their Kia?
My wife’s got a 2018 Kia Sportage with 49k miles, and it’s been kept in the garage. We’re seeing peeling paint on the upper trunk, side mirrors, and now even the back part of the roof near the trunk. We’ve never had a car this new with so few miles have paint problems like this.
A quick search shows others are dealing with the same thing, but it looks like Kia isn’t doing much to help. It’s making me think twice about buying another Kia in the future.Has anyone had any luck getting help from their dealer or Kia? Our dealer just told us to call Kia and didn’t give us any more info, which seems a bit off.

Hopefully will get ur assistance

Extreme humidity, temperature changes, or salt exposure can hasten paint deterioration. :pensive:

Your  Sportage’s paint is more prone to peel if it was applied incorrectly or of lower quality.

Photograph the chipping paint in clear detail. If you need to file a claim with Kia or your insurance provider, this will be useful. :expressionless:

Should your warranty not cover paint flaking, you could choose to have it professionally fixed or repainted. :unamused:

Make an appointment for your car to be inspected by a technician. They might be able to identify the reason behind the paint peeling and provide a fix. :persevere:
