I’m working on a 2007 Kia Sportage 2.0 TDI with the D4EA engine. The issue is that I’m getting no power to the injectors, and no fault codes are coming up via diagnostics. The vehicle had previously overheated, and we fixed a few fault codes, bad connections, and the timing (which was out by two teeth). It starts with starter fluid, but no power is going to the injectors. I’ve checked the cam and crank sensors, and their waveforms look good, but I’m still stuck. Anyone have any suggestions?
Did you check the injectors using a Noid light to confirm there’s no signal at all? That’ll tell you if the injectors are actually getting any power.

I haven’t used a Noid light yet. I’ll try that and see if I get any signal.
Make sure to double-check the crankshaft sensor. Even if the waveform looks good, a bad sensor can still cut the signal to the injectors.

Good point, I’ll recheck that sensor just to be sure.
Is the fuel pump running while cranking? If it’s not, that could explain why there’s no fuel going to the injectors.

I’ll check if the fuel pump is running during cranking. Thanks for the suggestion.
If everything else checks out, you might want to look at the engine control module (ECM). Sometimes an ECM issue can stop the injectors from firing, even if the sensors are fine.

I’ll keep that in mind if I can’t find the issue elsewhere. Thanks for the advice.
Have you checked the fuses and relays related to the fuel system? A blown fuse or bad relay could stop power from reaching the injectors.

I’ll check those next. Hopefully, it’s something as simple as that.
