My son’s Kia Sportage is in the shop because of engine trouble. They said it’ll take a few weeks to fix, but he can’t get a loaner car. He works 40 minutes away and Kia told us they only have 6 loaners, all booked. I’ve bought three cars from them, but no loaner for us. Has anyone else dealt with something like this?
If they only have 6 loaners and they’re already taken, what do you expect them to do?

Are you saying they should take one from someone else and give it to you?
@MatthewGonzalez
No, nothing like that. Maybe just pull one of those shiny 2025 EV6 GTs off the lot and lend it out instead.
They might work with Enterprise. The dealership near me does. Maybe call and ask if that’s an option?

Thanks for the tip. I’ll call them tomorrow.
If you’re stuck, rent a U-Haul truck. It’s surprisingly cheap.
This happens a lot. Loaner cars aren’t something you’re guaranteed. It’s nice when it’s available, but it’s not always going to be.
The dealership near me has a deal with Hertz. When my Sportage was in for three months, they set me up with a rental. Maybe ask if they can do the same?

Thanks, I’ll look into it.
Check with your car insurance. Sometimes they’ll help with rental costs while your car is in the shop.

Good idea, I’ll ask them.
When my car was in for 5 weeks, Kia sent me to Enterprise. They had a car ready, and I didn’t have to pay for anything except gas and tolls.

Thanks for sharing. I’ll see if that’s an option here.
Yes, I’ve been dealing with Kia issues for months now. My car’s been waiting on a new engine for four months because of a recall. I went a whole month without a loaner and had to use my son’s beat-up car. Get on the loaner list, call your insurance about rentals, and push Kia to cover it. Make sure you get everything in writing. Sometimes you have to be persistent to get what you need.
Lol, that’s Kia for you.
Thanks to those with helpful suggestions! There’s always gotta be one or two rude ones though… smh.

Always happens.
I just don’t get how they only have 6 loaners when so many cars need repairs.

I think you already answered your own question there.
