Kia Charging Diagnostic Fee for Warranty Issues?

Good afternoon,

I’ve got a 2023 Seltos, and it’s been acting super weird lately. The keyless entry only works sometimes, the collision warning goes off for no reason, and my A/C is leaking a giant puddle underneath.
I brought it to the dealership, which is always a hassle, and today they told me they want to charge me $240 for each issue just to diagnose them, even though it’s under warranty. I told the lady at the counter that I bought their highest protection package, including road hazard and extended warranties, so I was really confused about why they wanted over $500 just to look at problems that should be covered. She said, “Well, sometimes these things aren’t covered.”
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of issue when trying to get warranty problems checked out or fixed? If this is how it’s going to be, I’m not sure I want to keep my Kia.

Your response to this will be highly appreciated…

Depending on the particular :grinning:dealership and the type of issue, Kia may or may not charge a diagnostic fee for warranty problems.

Usually, :grinning: there won’t be a cost if the dealership can quickly determine the problem and the issue is clearly covered under warranty.

There may be a fee in certain situations if the issue is complicated or necessitates extensive diagnostics to  see if it’s covered under warranty. This is frequently used to pay for the work and supplies needed to diagnose the problem.

The diagnostic price may :star_struck: be reimbursed or applied toward the repair if it turns out that the problem is covered under warranty.
